Once in a while, during my volunteer time at PAWS, I get to witness a happy ending. Ludo’s story was one!
While I was photographing this beautiful, dignified shepherd mix, I got the sense that he was on alert… for something, or someone. As it turned out, while I was snapping photos, his family had arrived at the shelter looking for him! When I brought Ludo back inside, his family was in the hallway waiting to greet him, and boy was he happy to see them! So, happily, these pictures never made it onto Petfinder. But I think his eyes, and the angle of his ears tell the story perfectly.
Hello! This is a picture of me with my boy T.J.
We adopted T.J. from the Humane Society 11 years ago. He will be 12 in May. T.J., along with our other 2 rescue doggies, Trixie and Truffles, has been the subject of many, many photographs over the years. He is the spark that started my interest in photographing animals, especially those in shelters waiting to find their forever homes. I currently volunteer at PAWS animal shelter in Lynnwood, Washington, taking pictures of the cats and dogs who are waiting to find human companionship. Besides raising my 2 kids, it is the most rewarding thing I do! I will be sharing photos of these animals on this site. Thanks for visiting!
